Our father, K. Fleet Dillon, has generously shared all his love, knowledge, and caring that he had, and now, finally, at last, he has happily rejoined our mother, his beloved wife, Charlotte. He so looked forward to this day, and now we will celebrate his wondrous, and wonderful life, and invite you to be a part of this moment.
Fleet was born April 25, 1913, in Bellevue, a child of Charles Buckland and Eliza (Dunlap Fleet) Dillon. He ceased walking on this earth March 21, 2013, at the age of 99. He lived his entire life in the Bellevue area, except for those summers on George Island, near Killarney, Ont., Canada.
He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He served his Parish in many different capacities.
Fleet graduated from Bellevue High School in 1931. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1935, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
After graduation, his occupational field was in agriculture as a grain and hay merchant and as a distributor of seed, feed and farm supplies. For many years he was involved in school transportation, serving as a driver and as a supervisor.
On May 11, 1940, he married Charlotte Mitchell Seltzer. They had four children, Michael Edward (Marcia) Dillon, of Hilton Head, S.C., Mary Katherine (Donald) Rickenbaugh, of Pensicola Beach, Fla., Susan Seltzer Proffitt, of Perdido Key, Fla, and William Kent (Theresa) Dillon, of Bellevue. He had nine grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Socially, he was a member of several Masonic orders, including the Shriners and the Scottish Rite, The Farm Bureau and Grange, the Eagles, Elks and DeMars Club.
He was preceded in death his wife in 1998; by his parents; and all his uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be 2-4: and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, with masonic services in the evening.
