Henry E. "Hank" Oney, 82, of Milan, passed way suddenly Thursday morning, March 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y., son of the late Estel and Ruth (Trace) Oney. Hank worked as a machinist for New Departure for several years before his retirement.
He was a member of the Milan American Legion, the Rod and Gun Club, and was a 32nd degree Mason. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry work, driving and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Violet (Kramb) Oney; four children, Rebecca (Allen) Swander, of Green-Springs, Henry Keith (Fely) Oney, of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerri (James) Dunfee, of Sandusky, and Dennis (Robyn) Brady, of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren, Erika Slingwine, Shawn and Patrick Swander, Angie Watts, Laura Kirchner, Austin and Andrew Oney, Ryan Brady, Ashley Hillman, Heather Linder and Holly Brady; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vivian Valentine, Mary Garlock and Lavonne Edington; one brother, Ernest Oney;several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Including his parents, Hank was preceded in death by three stepsons, Jackie, Thom and Clyde Brady; two brothers, Hardin and Jay Oney; and one grandson.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1. S. Main St. Milan, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26. The Rev. Joe Woodyard will officiatie. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery.
