Robert “Rob” T. Butler, 56, of Sandusky, passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2013 in his home.
He was born July 14, 1956, in Lima, Ohio, to Wanda L. and Fred T. Butler. After graduating from Bowling Green State University, he began a career at NASA Plum Brook as an instrumentation technician. He most recently worked at Humanetics in Huron.
Rob was creative and artistic. He could envision, design, and implement unique projects at home, work, and at his commercial investment properties in downtown Sandusky. He loved spending time at his great-grandparents’ Victorian cottage in Put-in-Bay, taking the Lyman out on the lake, drawing, rock ‘n roll music, and learning to play the piano and guitar.
Rob is survived by his father, Fred T. Butler; wife, Kate Butler; son, Sam Yokota; nephew, Taylor Butler; and many extended family members.
At Rob’s request, cremation will take place. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, until a memorial services at 11 a.m. at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. All in attendance are welcome to join the family immediately following the service for a light luncheon at The Chapel. After the luncheon the family invites everyone to join them in scattering the cremains off the Miller Boat Line in Catawba.
