Eileen R. Brown, 92, of Port Clinton, and formerly of Sandusky, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 19, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Toledo, daughter of the late Carl and Emma (Guembel) Sauer. She graduated from Libbey High School in Toledo. Eileen worked for Sherlock Bakery before raising her family as a homemaker.
She was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sandusky, where she was in the women’s circle. In recent years, she attended Chapel on the Lake in Marblehead with her family.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Linda (Alan) Mandeville, of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Shawna (Gregory) Voss, of Bedford, Ohio, and Ethan Mandeville, of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Brown, in January of 1985; her parents; and sisters, Mildred (Paul) Allen, Ruth (Robert) Gilbert, and Jean (Clarence) Meade.
At Eileen’s request, there will be no viewing and cremation will take place. Private graveside services will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. The Rev. Kathleen Shuck will officiate.
