Jerome A. "Butch" Dorobek, 69, of Clyde died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
Butch was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Fremont, son of the late Walter and Kathryn (Karr) Dorobek. He attended Townsend High School and worked 41 years at Whirlpool Corp., retiring in 2001.
Mr. Dorobek was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving four years. He was a member of Clyde VFW. Butch enjoyed NASCAR races and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, LaDonna (Mesnard) Dorobek, whom he married March 2, 1963; four daughters, Michelle (Christopher) Herwat of Huron, and Debra Dorobek, Stephanie Jones and Jennifer Dorobek, all of Clyde; and seven grandchildren. Butch is survived by 12 siblings, James (Rita) Dorobek of Fremont, Judith (Glenn) Hoppe and June (John) Brough of Clyde, Janice (Gary) Butts of Castalia, John (Linda) Dorobek of The Colony, Texas, Joseph (Donna) Dorobek of Clyde, Jeffery (Jean) Dorobek of Vickery, Jay (Cindy) Dorobek of Pensacola, Fla., Jerrold Dorobek of Clyde, Jerry Dorobek and Jac (Gloria) Dorobek of Vickery, and Julia Polk of Cherry Point, N.C.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery with military graveside honors provided by Clyde VFW and American Legion. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Autistic Foundation.
