John Eberhard, 77, of Clyde, died in his home Sunday, March 17, 2013.
He was born in Clyde on July 9, 1935, to James and Pauline (Kowalk) Eberhard.
John graduated from Clyde High School in 1953, and then attended University of Toledo and BGSU Firelands. He was a manager in budget and accounting at Whirlpool Corp., where he worked for 36 years prior to his 1990 retirement.
He served on the Clyde City Council for 12 years, the Board of Zoning and the Civil Service Committee, as well as being a former member of Kiwanis and the Jaycees. He had been a Pony League Baseball coach.
On June 18, 1955, he married Carol Crotcher, and she survives; along with three children, Susan Wilhelm of Fremont, John Eberhard of Clyde, and Jerry (Amy) Eberhard of Fremont; and three granddaughters, Melissa Wilhelm, Chrysten Eberhard, and Micaela Eberhard.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Burke.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Lees officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
