James L. Brengartner, 75, of Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, March 15, 2013, in Providence Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
James L. Brengartner was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Sandusky, son of the late Lewis and Bernice (Weis) Brengartner. James graduated from Sandusky High School. He worked at Industrial Nut as a final inspector for 25 years and at Esmond Dairy for 13 years.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion, and was a bowling advisor. In his spare time James enjoyed doing yard work, fishing, going out on his boat, watching the races, and was an avid Browns, Indians, and OSU fan. He loved spending time with his family.
James is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Darlene (Lippert) Brengartner; children, Sharon (Russell) Dickman, of Sandusky, James (Kay) Brengartner, of Sandusky, Steven (Shelley) Brengartner, of Sandusky, Lisa (Danny) Brengartner, of Sandusky, Charles (Jessica) Brengartner, of Huron, Carl (Denise) Clonch, of Sandusky, and Mary (Bert) Gaddis, of Columbus; six grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
