Viola “Vi” Dickman, of Cape Coral, Fla., passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Hope Hospice House, after a bout with cancer.
Vi was born June 14, 1942, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, daughter of Ross and Irene (Graham) Wallace; she immigrated to the United States in 1956.
On December 10, 1960, she married John C. Dickman in Sandusky. They remained in the area, working and raising their family, until 2004, when they relocated to Cape Coral.
Vi was a loving wife, devoted mother and caring friend.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John C. Dickman; sister, Patricia (Willie) Scholler, of Columbus; brothers, Bob (Christine) Coles, of Hamilton, New Zealand, and Ian (Sunday) Wallace, of Milan; daughters, Machelle (Mike) Sandlin and Denise Dickman, all of Cape Coral; son, John R. (Kelly) Dickman, of Cape Coral; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Vi was predeceased by her brother, Edmund Wallace, in 1981; her mother, Irene, in 1985; and her father, Ross, in 1989
A service will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, with her entombment on premises immediately following.
