Richard C. Carsten, 84, of Milan, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
Richard was born June 26, 1928, in Seville, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Nellie (Dennison) Carsten.
Richard married Marcella Ott on Feb. 14, 1953. 

He was employed by Midwest Wood-Treating as a truck driver for many years. 

He was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland sports, and Green Bay Packers fan. Richard enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, and most of all spending time with his friends at the coffee shop.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marcella (Ott) Carsten; one son, Richard (Leah) Carsten, of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Jean (Anthony) Robuck, of Sandusky, and Nancy (Darrell) Caskey, of Milan; eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Lisa) Caskey, of Georgia, Matthew (Melissa) Caskey, of Berlin Heights, Jeremiah Robuck, of Oxford, Daniel Caskey, of Louisiana, Ethan Caskey, of Maryland, Shawn Robuck, of Oxford, Ashley Carsten, of Indiana, and Holly Carsten, of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Jaden, Hunter, Junah and Wyatt; three step great-grandchildren, Kayla, Keegan and Kennedy; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Sarr and Elizabeth (Robert) Hipp, of Norwalk; two brothers-in-law, Norman (Evelyn) Ott and Robert (Karen) Ott, of Norwalk; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Including his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason A Robuck; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Janice Carsten, Ralph Ott, Raymond and Patricia Ott, and Richard Sarr.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1 S. Main St., Milan, where prayers will be recited  at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 145 Center St., Milan. The Rev. Anthony Recker will officiate.
