Avery Pool, 91, of Norwalk, died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, in Gaymont Nursing Center.
He was born June 28, 1921, in Mansfield, Ohio, son of the late Frederick G. and Bertha B. (Armstrong) Pool and lived in this area most of his life.
Avery was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in W.W. II.
Avery worked with his parents at the Isaly Store in Norwalk, was a former machinist at Kuhlman Machine Shop and retired from Automation Equipment.
He was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, and Mount Vernon Lodge 64 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and carving, gardening ,bowling, and leather tooling, but his biggest joy was entertaining family and friends with his sense of humor and pockets full of surprises., Norwalk.
Avery is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen L. (VonSeggern) Pool, of Norwalk; his daughters, Judy K. Emmons of Norwalk, Nancy A. Eidson of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Laura L. Frisbee, of Perkins Township; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Sue Pool; and by his sisters, Edith Stall and Carol Renna.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, until the service at 11 a.m. at Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Gary Streiff will officiate. Walker Funeral Home, 98 W.t Main St., Norwalk, is in charge of arrangements.
