Alice Edna Timple, 91, of Sandusky, died Friday, March 8, 2013, in Providence Care Center.
She was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Adolph and Jessie (Dwelle) Strack, and was a 1939 graduate of Sandusky High School.
Alice was a member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ, and the women’s guild of the church. She also belonged to the Good Samartian Auxillary, American Legion 8 & 40 Auxillary and Lazy Women’s Pinochle Club. She loved to paint and play the piano and organ. Most of all, she loved her family gatherings, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Barbara A. Gurney, of Bloomville, Ohio, Judy A. (Gary) Guendelsberger and Dennis P. (Cheryl) Timple, of Sandusky, Mollie (Wallace) Sevcik, of Boardman, OHhio, Allan R. (Martha) Timple, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Timothy J. (Sandra) Timple, of Huron; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G Timple; parents; three grandsons; a great-great-granddaughter; brother, William in infancy; and a son-in-law, Dennis Gurney.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, until memorial services at 3 p.m. at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Jerald Fenske will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
