Thomas D. Berry, 76, of Norwalk, died Monday, March 4, 2013, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born August 15, 1936, in Norwalk, to Dean L. and Lucille B. (Gerber) Berry, and was a lifelong area resident. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Tom was a member, five time Past Exalter Ruler, former District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, and Elk of the Year 1991-1992, of Norwalk Elks Lodge 730. As the former chairman of the Elks National Foundation, Tom was proud to have exceeded the expected contribution to the foundation for the Norwalk Club.
He was the co-owner of Tom and Jakes Glass Bar, Norwalk. Tom enjoyed playing golf, cards, bowling, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucille "Lucy" A. (Bolding) Berry of Norwalk; sons and daughters-in-law, Sean M. and Amy Berry of Norwalk, and Dean M. and Darlene Berry of Norwalk; grandchildren, Larissa, Alaina, Ian, Brenna, Anessa, Sela, Mara, Michael, and Keagan; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Charles "Tom" Hall of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. The family will receive friends and relatives 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at 45 E. Main St., Norwalk. Arrangements are being handled by Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk.
