Walter Lee “Bully” Farris, 56, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2013, at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1956, in Sandusky, son of the late John and Ella (Hunter) Farris. Walter attended Sandusky High School where he was a standout athlete.
He was formerly employed by Red Lobster, Kalahari and Bertsch Jewelers.
Walter was a character, a funny and likeable guy to all who knew him. He was also known as “Candy Man” to all the children and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Josephine (Cecil) Roberts, Lillie Brown, Mary (Kenneth) Jones, Ruby (Bobbie) Nesbit, Ruth (Dennis) Fletcher and Jannice Farris, all of Sandusky; brothers, Fred “Sugerman” Farris and John Farris, of Sandusky; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Farris; and a brother, Wilbert “Kool Aid” Farris.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, until funeral services at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. The Rev. Tony Robinson will officiate.
