Charles “Chuck” R. Allison, 68, of Norwalk, joined his wife and love of his life, Linda, when he passed away on Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born March 14, 1944, in Sandusky, son of the late William and Ruth (Davis) Allison. He graduated from Perkins High School in 1963 and was a Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Indian Ocean during the Vietnam War. He then worked for New Departure for 33 years, retiring in 2001.
Chuck loved to keep score for men’s softball league games, golf, fish, and bowl. He bowled for many years in several different leagues. He also loved the Cleveland Browns and Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved his special canine companion, Heidi. Chuck was always there for his family, and let everyone know that he loved them.
Chuck is survived by his children, Michelle (Rick) Edwards, of Norwalk, Todd (Barbie) Allison, of Sandusky, and Marcy (Brandon Canada) Allison, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Corey Trevino, Jonathon Trevino and Kylie Edwards; brothers, William (Carol) Allison, of Spokane, Wash., Timothy Allison, of Sandusky, and Michael (Kelli) Allison, of Sandusky; sisters-in-law, Sandy Stierhoff and Pamela (Robert) Mazza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Linda (Byers) Allison, in February of 2010; and his parents.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, until funeral services at noon at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Marines Corps Forever Honor and Color Guard will provide military honors.
