Gertrude J. Patsch, 93, of Castalia, died Tuesday night, March 5, 2013, in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, following a brief illness.
She was born July 10, 1919, in Venice. She attended Wayside Temple, Castalia. Gertrude had many jobs over the years. She worked at Philco, Joann Fabrics, Margaretta Schools, Rockwell Springs Trout Club, Cedar Point, and finally retired from Ohio Veterans Home.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and sculpting and painting ceramics at the senior center, and she also liked to watch her birds and cats. Gertrude loved to spend time with all her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Killingsworth, of Castalia, and Patricia (Robert) Reitc, of Clyde; three grandchildren, Jeff (Rose) Killingsworth, Michelle (Jeff) Sberna and Melissa Morehart; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda Sberna, Beth Sberna-Neill, Cindy Killingsworth, Katie Killingsworth, Kim Killingsworth, Philip Anderson, Morgan Clark and Toni Killingsworth; and one great-great grandchild, Flynn Neill.
Gertruded was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Patsch; parents, Jacob and Emma (Gruhlke) Wuertz ; grandson, Troy Killingsworth; two sisters, Leona Wuertz and Alverna Blunk; brother, Charles Wuertz, and two brothers in infancy.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, until services at noon at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Rusty Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
