Virgil L. Osborn

Virgil L. Osborn, 77, of Monroeville, died Monday, March 4, 2013, in Twilight Gardens Home. 

He was born Oct. 24,1935, in Greenwich, son of the late J.P. and Mardell (Starkey) Osborn. Virgil was raised in the Steuben and North Fairfield areas and was a former resident of Lakeland, Fla. He had worked for Minniear and Simons Heating and Plumbing of North Fairfield, Myers Roofing and Sunstate Drywall of Lakeland. 

Virgil was a handyman, enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing horseshoes, NASCAR racing, and was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. 

He is survived by his former wives, Francis Osborn, of Monroeville, and Jetsy Powell, of Lakeland; his children and their partners, Mike  and Lori Kleinowski, of Georgia, Larry A. Osborne and Jan Ross, of Monroeville, Terry L. Osborn, of Sandusky,  Cynthia L. Osborn and Eric Clouse, of Monroeville, Virgil "Ben" Osborn, of Lakeland, Kimberly and Tom Messig of Monroeville, Tarla Sue Winner, of Lakeland, Virgil "Bing" Osborn, of Lakeland, and Loren and Theresa Osborn, of Lakeland; his grandchildren, Brittany Osborn, Steffany Osborn, Carly Osborn, Derrick Osborn, Melissa Osborn, Crystal Osborn, Trisha Howey, Logan Clouse, Alan Osborn, Brittany Hasting, Lindsey Kennedy, Dalton Kennedy, Johnna Morris, Gavin Osborn, Chase Osborn, Ryder Osborn, Trott Osborn, Bryson Osborn, Bella Osborn and Brady Osborn; his great-grandchildren, Austin, Stella Jade and Devin. Virgil is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Huberta Osborn, of Norwalk, and his sister-in-law, Shirley Osborn, of North Fairfield. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-law, Roger Osborn, Melvin and Diane Osborn; and by his sisters and brother-in-law, Anna Stevens and Janice and Bobby Darrell Slone. 

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the North Fairfield American Legion, 218 E. Main St., North Fairfield. Dan Clouse , Chaplain of Southern Care Hospice, will officiate. Inurnment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
