James C. Parker, age 76, of Castalia, died Sunday morning, March 3, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Castalia, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1954. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia.
James worked for New Departure, Sandusky, for 38 years as a machine operator, retiring in 1992. He loved spending time with his family, going to tractor pulls, and watching his grandsons play sports.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Sessler) Parker, of 57 years; three daughters, Vicki Meyers, Sandra (Bruce) Martin, and Janet (Keeno) Galindo Jr.; four grandsons, Travis Meyers, Kyle and Craig Galindo, and Troy Martin; three sisters, Jeanette (James) Toft, Ruth (Dick) Franklin, and Clara (David) Bailey; four brothers, John (Lyn) Parker, Charles (Bonnie) Parker, Robert (Faith) Parker, and Richard (Sherri) Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Marie (Graves) Parker.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
