Becky J. Olrick, 88, of Sandusky, and formerly Toledo, passed away at noon Thursday, March 4, 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., Dec. 6, 1921, to Dr. George William and Harriette Prudence (Johnson) Watkins. She grew up in Toledo and was a graduate of Toledo Scott High School. In the 1960’s Becky moved to the Sandusky area. She worked as a dispatcher for several police and fire departments and later for the Ohio State Patrol. She also worked at Vulcan Materials for many years.
She was a member of Eleanor Chapter 331 of the Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Matron. She enjoyed working on quilts throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Ronald E. Olrick; stepsons, which she helped raise, Jack, Jim and the late Donald Mumford.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Wilbur L. Mumford; and two sisters, Mary Leali and Diane Vezza.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will take place later in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo.
