Shirley Ann (Allen) Zieber, 77, of Vermilion, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain, from complications of a stroke.
She was born July 1, 1935, in Medina, was raised in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and lived in Vermilion for the last 50 years. Shirley worked as a waitress at the Elberta Inn in Vermilion and as a clerk at Hills Department Store in Amherst.
She enjoyed meeting the “Brookside High School Girls” from her class, once a month for lunch. Shirley also enjoyed gardening, traveling to Florida with her sister, spending time in New Mexico and Arizona, and watching her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly-Jo (Robert) Spicer, of Vermilion; grandchildren, Marlene (fiancé Toby) Spicer, of Vermilion, and Lee (Jessica) Spicer, of Lorain; great-grandchildren, Helena, Alexis, Toby Jr., Lily, Hailie and Savannah; brother, Clifford Allen, of New York; sister, Lois Grant, of Sheffield Lake; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Zieber; sons, David Zieber and Robert Zieber Jr.; and by her parents, David and Velma (Wolery) Allen.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday March 10, at the Village of Edson Creek Recreation Hall (off Ohio 60), Vermilion.
