James Cherry, 50, of Sandusky, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 26., 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born Dec. 6, 1962, in Sandusky and attended Sandusky High School and Terra Tech Community College in Fremont. He was employed by American Quality Stripping in Sandusky.
James loved fishing, working on cars and family vacations.
He is survived by his wife, Marcie (Ehrnsberger) Cherry; children, Gelinequa Cherry, Charolette, NC, Quotez Alexander and Devon Ehrnsberger, both of Sandusky, Shacara Cherry, Jocelyn Cherry, and Joshua Cherry, all at home; mother, Lena (Hunter) Cherry, of Sandusky; several grandchildren; sisters, Estella (Gregory) McKinney and Patricia Hunter, of Sandusky, and Debbie Ruffin, of New Jersey; brothers, Jimmie (Linda) Cherry Jr., of Sandusky, and Shawn Turner, of Mississippi; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie W. Cherry Sr.; sisters, Geraldine Cherry and Francis “Cookie” Wright; and a brother, Johnny D. Rogers Cherry.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2222 Cleveland Road, Sandusky. The Revs. Richard Mick and Darryl Gant will officiate.
