Mildred L. Harple, 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 26, 2013, in Providence Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
Mildred was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Sandusky, daughter of the late William August and Augusta Louise (Henkel) Lang. Millie was a 1940 graduate of Sandusky High School.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, baking, gardening and walking. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Myron) Schmenk, of Huron, Sandra (James) Conaway, of Waunakee, Wis., and Diane (Kevin) Wintersteller, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Leslie (Jeff) Wallace, Michael (Ronda) Schmenk, Shannon (Robert Hineline) Conaway, Jason (Kim) Wintersteller, Ryan (Taryn) Conaway, Scott (Cheri) Wintersteller, and Joel (Lisa) Wintersteller; 11 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Frederick E. Harple Jr. , on Jan. 20, 2013; her parents; and her two brothers, William and Donald Lang.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday, March 1, until the service at noon at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Deacon Kevin Wintersteller will officiate. Entombment will take place in Oakland Cemetery.
