Mildred Elizabeth (Bores) Smith, 89, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 21, 2013, at her residence.
Mildred was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Theodore Anthony “Walter” and Anna Marie (Hall) Bores. Mildred graduated from Sandusky High School in 1942. She was employed by Apex for 15 years.
Mildred was a member of Holy Angel’s Church, Church Woman United, Bereavement Committee, and the telephone prayer line. Upon waking every morning, she devoutly prayed for all members of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her two children, Gregory (Teresa) and Randy (Janet) Smith; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Kromer; many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Oma Richard Smith; her parents; and her siblings, Robert and Margaret Bores.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Feb. 25, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1605 W. Jefferson St., Sandusky. The Rev. Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will be later in Calvary Cemetery.
