Sean Padraic Strickfaden, 26, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2013.
He was born Aug. 21, 1986, in Sandusky, to Juliette (Gibson) and Charles Strickfaden. Growing up in Sandusky, he actively participated in Boy Scouts, played baseball and soccer and was an altar boy at Holy Angels Parish. He was in the gifted program throughout school, and participated in drama club and marching band. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 2004.
He loved video games, and built his own computer.
While pursuing a career in radio broadcasting, Sean frequented the airwaves as a participant on the Opie and Anthony Show. In one of his proudest moments, he shared the stage with Kevin Smith, who shared his wit and sense of humor. Sean’s striking wit and intelligence could only be matched by his unwavering selflessness. Never did he consider himself before others.
He is survived by his parents, Juliette (Gibson) and Charles Strickfaden; his brothers, Jude (Lauren), Chad (Stephanie), Seth (Kate), and Alec; nephew, Jude Maltese, and niece, Chloe Pozega-Strickfaden; numerous other relatives; grandparents, Dolli Gray and Paul and Connie Strickfaden and Ann and Dale Cerny; and the love of his life and best friend, Juliana Guevara.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, E. Lyle Gibson and Robert Gray, and his uncle, Mark Strickfaden.
Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angel’s Catholic Church, 1605 W. Jefferson St., Sandusky. The Rev. Jason Kahle will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
