Esther Alida (Mora) Maxwell, 61, Bellevue, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 26, 1948, in Bellevue, and was a 1967 graduate of Bellevue Senior High School. Esther was employed by St. Francis Health Care Centre in Green Springs as the food service director for five years. She loved cooking for everyone, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved Scottish Terriers.
She is survived by her husband and true love of 38 years, Bob Maxwell; son, Joe (Tonia) Maxwell of Norwalk; daughter and best friend, Kris (Mike) Herzog of Sandusky; grandchildren, Kurt, Kamryn, Kaden, Kole and Alexis Evie; sisters, Betty Mora of Bellevue and Sara Mora of Fremont; brother, Sam Mora of Tiffin; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Salvador and Hortensia (Rodriguez) Mora; and brother, Salvador Mora Jr.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. Monday until memorial Mass at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Jason Kahle will officiate. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the Commons of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, 430 S. Main St., Clyde, OH 43410, an exceptional organization in a trying time.
