Timothy J. Roberts, 56, of Sandusky, passed away late Monday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2013, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 30, 1956, in Sandusky and was a 1974 graduate of Sandusky High School. Tim worked at the family run business, A.W. Roberts & Son and Roberts Specialty Shoppe for more than 30 years. He later went on to work at the Sandusky Register for a couple of years. Tim was also known for "Tim's Mini-Donut" which was a concession stand that he operated at different local festivals, the fair, activities and events.
He was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ. Tim enjoyed gardening and tending to his flowers; all types of animals, he especially had a love for dogs; he enjoyed children, mostly his nieces and nephews and he had a love for nature and enjoyed watching a good sunset as the day would come to a close.
Tim is survived by his mother, Marlene A. (Bremer) Roberts, of Sandusky; three sisters, Tamara Roberts, of Chicago, and Tonya (Keith) Warren and Tina (Jody) Showalter, of Sandusky; a brother, Thomas (Connie) Roberts, of Huron, seven nieces and nephews, Marcia (Tim) Hahn, Mark, Matthew, M. Scott (Lauren) Roberts, Joshua Warren, Katelyn and Noelle Showalter.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Roberts, on July 24, 2007.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, until a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Sts. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Jerald A. Fenske will officiate.
