Joseph Junior Fulton, 88, of New Haven, Ohio, and a winter resident of Bullhead, City, Ariz., passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, in Centennial Hills Hospital in North Las Vegas after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 26, 1924, in Newark, Ohio, to Joseph R. and Grace (Rice) Fulton. He married Jean E. Hansman on Dec. 8, 1946, in Willard, and she survives in New Haven.
Other survivors include three sons, Joseph R. (Rosemary) Fulton and John W. (Claudette) Fulton, of Willard, and William M.(Mary) Fulton, of Huntsville, Ohio; two daughters, Susan (Gregory) McKown and Rebecca (Tom) Gremmer, of Willard; 17 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jean Boren, and two brothers, Gerald R. and J.R. Fulton.
He was a 1946 graduate of Willard High School; a WWII Navy Seabee veteran, serving in the South Pacific. He was a life member of the Willard VFW; past commander of the Willard American Legion Post 514; a member of First United Methodist Church in Willard; a member and past master of Golden Rule Lodge 562 F & AM in Willard.
Joe retired after working for many years for Kroger, Lawson’s, Wilcox’s IGA ,and Moore’s IGA as a grocery store manager.
His greatest joy in life was being with his family and his yard work.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, until funeral services at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 401 E. Howard St., Willard. The Rev. Doug Beggs and the Rev. Kenneth Gifford will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Willard American Legion. A Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
