Timothy McHugh, 67, of Sandusky passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Timothy was born March 20, 1945, in Toledo, son the late Benjamin and Neva (Grimes) McHugh. Timothy was a graduate of Start High School in Toledo, and attended classes at St. Vincent’s Hospital to become a surgical technician. He worked at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton for nine years, and then became an exterminator for Terminix.
He was a volunteer for Stein Hospice for two years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, reading, music, gadgets, and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Connie (Reser) whom he married May 7, 1994; four daughters, Denise (Todd) Schoen, Kelly (Ken) Cravens, Wendy (Keith) Hall and Penny (Joe) St. Clair; four sons, Tim McHugh, Nathan Dingus, Christopher McHugh and Sean McHugh; 21 special grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Madonna McHugh, Mary Anna (Terry) Austrew, Marcia (Mike) Nameche and Kathy (Jon) Sherwood; brother, Marty (Karen) McHugh; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Timothy was preceded in death by his son, Casey McHugh; his parents; and his brothers, Patrick and Michael.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Private family services will be at a later date, and burial will take place in Bakertown Cemetery in Clyde.
