Don E. Klahn, 80, of Norwalk, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, where he resided for the last two years due to his health.
Don was born in Big Rock, Iowa, and resided in that area until he went to the University of Iowa and graduated with a degree in commerce and a major in accounting. He spent most of his years in the Kansas City, Mo., area. He owned Klahn Accounting and two Century 21 offices plus many rental properties. Don resided in Norwalk for the last three years.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Ritter) Klahn, of Norwalk; and by his children, Dennis (Nancy) Klahn, of Poway, Calif., Ronald (Jarice) Klahn, of Melba, Idaho, and Steven Klahn of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Don is also survived by his stepchildren, Andrew (Robin) Liedorff and Wayne Liedorff, of Norwalk, and Brian (Bridgette) Liedorff, of Monroeville; by his mothe-in-law, Jean Smith, of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Bradley, Brian and Kathryn Klahn, of Poway, and Jared and Shanna Klahn, of Melba; and two stepgrandchildren, Connor and Collin Liedorff of Norwalk. He also leaves many friends that he has made in his years in the Kansas City area.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Luetta Klahn and by his brother, Doren Klahn, of Wheatland, Iowa.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, until a service at 7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wheatland.
