Lois C. Ulmer, 76, of Sandusky, passed away of natural causes early Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013, in Lutheran Memorial Home.
She was born March 28, 1936, in Sandusky, daughter of the late William and Ethel (Obergefell) Chamberlain, and was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary Central Catholic High School. She was employed for many years at Sandusky Electric, retiring in 1990.
Lois was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and an enthusiastic Bingo player. She also spent many hours fishing on Lake Erie with her husband Walter. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Lois is survived by three sisters, Rita Manner, of Sandusky, Marilyn Millis, of Huron, and Joyce Tight (Paul), of Lorain; three brothers, Charles, Ralph (Joan) and David Chamberlain, all of Sandusky. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Charles (Doris) Ulmer, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ulmer on Jan. 5, 2007, whom she married April 22, 1957; three brothers, Joseph (in infancy), Robert and Paul Chamberlain; and two sisters, Ruth Leidorf and Alice Brady.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
