Lewis R. Horvat, 66, of Elyria, and formerly of Vermilion and Huron, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in Elyria Memorial Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 18, 1946, in Sandusky was raised in Vermilion. He graduated from Vermilion High School in 1964. He worked for various chemical companies as a research lab technician and retired in 2006.
He enjoyed the outdoors, reading, and doing puzzles.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Tokar) Horvat, of Elyria; three grandchildren, JD, Leah, and Elizabeth Martin; and a sister, Susan Brandmeier of Huron.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Martin; his father, Lewis Horvat in 1995; and a sister, Diane Horvat.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb., until services at 11 a.m. at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
