Leona A. Riley, 89, residing in Sandusky, is going home to join her two children and her husband Fred. She passed away Monday morning, Feb. 4, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Leona was born in Sandusky, on Jan. 21, 1924. Leona and her husband owned and operated French Tex Cleaners. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association. She was member of the Firelands Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Kiwanis Fair Booth for over 40 years.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Jayson (Julie) Melson, Rex Melson, Amber Melson; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, and Kyle; niece, Audrey Scheck; and nephew, Roger (Marty) Mainser of Norwalk.
Including her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her children, Jeannie Simenson, and Rex Melson; and her four brothers and four sisters.
Private family services will take place, and burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
