Dennis L. Vogus, 69, of Berlin Heights, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Admirals Point Nursing Center, Huron.
He was born March 29, 1943, in Norwalk, to Kenneth W. and Alberta M. (Schwanger) Vogus, and was a lifelong area resident. Dennis attended St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, was a graduate of St. Paul High School, and a member of the Cement Mason's Union Local 109.
Dennis was a former Realtor and had been in sales in the Columbus area. He returned to Norwalk to work at Oglesby Construction Company where he had worked in high school. He retired from Oglesby Construction after 40 years of service. He enjoyed boating and fishing, working and tinkering around home, spending time with his kids and grandchildren, traveling, and enjoying casino's, especially Las Vegas, and was an avid Ohio State fan.
Dennis is survived by his children, Lisa M. and Mark Calco of Willoughby, Ohio, Brad and Ilaine Vogus of Monroeville, and Matt and Angie Vogus of Milan; grandchildren, Walter, Karly, Kaley, Hunter, Emily, and Allison; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Terry Hazelwood of Norwalk; and brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Shirley Vogus of Norwalk.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen B. (Kathy) Vogus in 2009.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk, Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
