Marie S. Dahm

Feb 24, 1921 - Jan 30, 2013

Marie S. Dahm, age 91, of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Sandusky, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013. Marie was a child of God, a Christian in her faith and a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and for the last seven years of her life the widow of Christopher J. Dahm, a World War II veteran.

She was born Feb. 24, 1921, in Barbourville, Ky., a child of Clarence Richard Davis Sr. and his wife Patty (Blackburn) Davis. On August 9, 1941, she married Christopher J. Dahm in the Salem EUB Church in Sandusky. Two children were born of this union - Patty Ann (J. Thomas) Pascoe, and Connie Jean (Frank) Schmitz.

Marie was a lady of the home who was also employed by, and retired from, the Duval County Tax Collector Office in Jacksonville.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking her southern fruit cakes and pecan pies, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her daughters, she is survived by three grandchildren, Christine Marie Hand (Wendell) of Jacksonville, Chad Royal-Pascoe of New York, and William Christopher Sims (Jennifer) of Dallas, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Kristin Marie Mallard (Jared), and Brandon Hand, all of Jacksonville, and Henry Christopher Sims of Dallas; brother-in-law and wife, Richard and Patricia Dahm of Castalia; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

On her birthday in 2013, Marie would have been 92 years young. God had bestowed upon her many blessings, among those in the last year of her life were: attendance at the wedding of her great-granddaughter Kristin; a visit to Sandusky with her daughter Patty and seeing Cedar Point all lit up with LED lights. (Cedar Point where "courting" happened in the 1940's, dancing to the big bands at the Cedar Point ballroom and a proposal of marriage on a Cedar Point roller coaster); and a visit to Dallas, Pa., brought her great joy in holding her three year old great-grandchild, Henry Sims on her lap and reading to him many books and favorite stories.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Christopher J. Dahm, in 2006; her parents; and two brothers, Clarence Richard Davis Jr. of Orange, Texas, and William Harrison Davis of Lebanon, Ohio.

No longer in pain, at peace with the Lord and united in heaven with her husband.
