Francis “Frank” Pratt, 68, of Berlin Heights, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
He was born Sept. 13, 1944, in Ashland, Pa., and lived in Berlin Heights for more than 35 years. He was a graduate of Rio Grande College with a degree in secondary education. He worked as a teacher for several years and was also an insurance agent for New York Life.
He devoted his retirement years to taking care of his grandchildren and enjoyed attending Edison High School band events. Frank was an avid English-style dart player. He traveled extensively competing in tournaments and even authored a book on the subject. He was an active Mason, serving as worshipful master and lodge education officer for Marks Lodge in Huron, and was a plural member of the Gibson Lodge in Wakeman, and a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marsha “Marty” (Klaiber); a daughter, Amy Pratt, of Lorain; three grandchildren, Tatiana Pickens, of Berlin Heights, and Taryn Pickens and Todja Stokes, of Lorain; a sister-in-law, Shirley Pratt, of Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilis W. and Helen M. (Goyne) Pratt, and a brother, Willis G. Pratt.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. At 7 p.m. the Marks Lodge and Gibson Lodge will conduct Masonic Services followed by services by his brother-in-law, Pastor Larry Klaiber.
