Doris Caulley, 77, Clyde, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center from complications of pneumonia.
She was born August 20, 1935, the daughter of W. Earl and Ruth (McCally) Barker.
She was a loving, caring, and compassionate woman who spent her entire life serving and caring for her family. Her hobbies included reading, collecting roosters, and playing school with her youngest grandson, Luke. In her younger years she thoroughly enjoyed traveling and shopping.
She was a 1954 graduate of Roosevelt High School, Dayton, Ohio, and 1958 graduate of the University of Rio Grande. Doris was an elementary teacher at Riverside Elementary School in Quincy, Ohio. She also taught in the Tipp City, Trotwood, and New Lebanon school districts. Doris was also employed at Elder Beerman where she was known as the best button salesperson. She also worked in medical records at OSU Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. She retired in 2001 and moved to Castalia; living her last five years in Clyde. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple.
Doris is survived by her children, David Caulley of Portsmouth, and Janice (Rich) Stinson of Castalia; grandchildren, Clark (Tara) and Grant (Mackenzie) Stinson of Bellevue, Derrick (Jennifer) Caulley of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Blake and Luke Stinson of Castalia; niece and nephews, Amy and Bill Davis of Portland, Ore., and Tim Davis of Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anne K. Davis; and brother-in-law, Jack C. Davis.
Friends will be received 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Harvest Baptist Temple, 1022 S. Main St., Clyde. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor James Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Garden, New Carlisle, Ohio.
