Barbara I. (Ramage) MacKay, 77, of Huron, died peacefully, Friday, Jan, 25, 2013, at her home, with family by her side.
She was born March 14, 1935, in Kipling, Ohio, and was a resident of the area since 1962.
She worked as a registered nurse, including 15 years as director of nursing at Twilight Gardens Nursing Home.
She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, homemaking, family activities, and working in her flower gardens.
She was an active member of The Chapel, Sandusky, and was instrumental in starting the “Women of the Word” Bible study group there.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gordon; four sons, Gary (Sherry) of Milan, Gregory (Lucy) of Georgetown, Ky., Jeffrey (Becky), of Evans City, Pa., and Michael (Lori), of Galena, Ohio.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Van Voorhis, of Waynesburg, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lila (Libolt) Ramage; father, Charles Ramage; and a sister, Maxine Longo.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, and from 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky, followed by services at 11 a.m. lead by The Chapel pastors and the Rev. Jeff MacKay. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Stein Hospice Services or The Chapel.
