Victoria Thoresen, 75, of Hypoluxo, Fla., and Catawba Island, died Jan. 18, 2013, at her residence in Hypoluxo.
Victoria was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Vern and Evelyn (Scott) Hakes. She married Lee Thoresen on March 22, 1959, and he survives.
Victoria was a 1956 graduate of Edina High School, Edina, Minn., and received her associate degree in arts from Stephens College, Columbia, Mo. Prior to devoting her time to raising her family, she was the receptionist for all the executives of Standard Oil, where she excelled in customer relations.
Victoria and Lee were bicycle racing officials and were both officials at the Atlanta Olympics. She loved to socialize with friends and family and later in life she devoted her time to caring for her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Lee; daughter, Tracyleigh (John) Rice of Pittsburgh; sons, Lance (Susan) Thoresen of Burnsville, Minn., Todd (Milka) Thoresen of Crete, Ill.; grandchildren, Rebecca, Hannah, Alex, Jack, Charlie and Lana Rice, Emery, Peter, Avery, Natalie and Caroline Thoresen, and Jessica and Leila Thoresen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Robert Hakes.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral, 1124 Fulton St., Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery.
