Geraldine K. (Voegle) Riedy, age 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 20, 2013, in Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont.
She was born March 10, 1927, in Sandusky, to Edward F. and Amanda M. (Moyer) Voegle.
Geraldine was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed the company of her Elmwood friends, flowers, gardening, bird watching, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Geraldine is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen (Craig) Bowie of Oregon, Ohio, Beverly (Keith) King of Fremont, and Susan (David) Boehmer of Dublin, Ohio; six grandchildren, Sarah (Nicholas) Crothers, Melissa Bowie, Emily Bowie, Kyle (Alisha) King, Katie Boehmer and Brooke Boehmer; sister, Mary Kay Huerkamp; brother, Jim Voegle; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Including her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth E. Riedy, whom she married Sept. 4, 1948; and brother, Eugene Voegle.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave. Sandusky. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. The Groff Funeral Home and Crematory in Sandusky is handling the arrangements for the family.
