Rosemary J. Bellamy, 88, of Norwalk, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born July 14, 1924, in Linton, N.D., daughter of the late Matthias and Elizabeth (Jangula) Volk. Rosie (as known by her Volk family) was raised in Bismarck, N.D., where she met her husband, Clyde Bellamy. She lived in Norwalk more than 65 years, and her first passion was being a homemaker. She worked at JC Penny and subsequently Hills Interiors making draperies.
Rosemary was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was an avid volunteer in the office and a devoted Eucharistic minister, attended the adoration chapel weekly and Bible study. She was a lifelong volunteer at St. Paul School and St. Paul Credit Union and attended cardiac rehab sessions for more than 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, traveling, sewing, playing cards and family genealogy.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Teresa (Donn) Rospert, of Bellevue, Wayne (Debbie) Bellamy, of Wilmington, Del., Mark (Pam) Bellamy, of Marietta, Ga., Tom (Deb) Bellamy, of Greenville, S.C., and Mary Beth (Dave) Brookover, of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three on the way; nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Bellamy, of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. Bellamy in 2007; and brothers, Larry Volk and Lenus Volk.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jsn. 23. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
