LuAnn Erney, 50, and a lifelong resident of Oxford Township, Erie County, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 18, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
LuAnn was born April 29, 1962, in Columbus, daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Schnell) Spencer. LuAnn was a 1980 graduate of Perkins High School.
She was an avid billiards player and a member of several area leagues. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
LuAnn is survived by her loving husband, Michael Erney Sr. whom she married June 30, 1979; her two sons, Michael Jr., of Monroeville, and Benjamin (Breanna) Erney, of Sandusky; three grandchildren, Evan, Issac and Caitlyn; her biological parents, Sue Ritchey and Richard Gonzales, of Texas; six brothers, Larry Spencer, of Sandusky, Leslie (Debby) Hall, of Castallia, and Bobby, Tony, Steve and Ricky Gonzales, all of Texas; one sister, Belinda Cruz, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, LuAnn is preceded in death by her brother, Earliss “Donnie” Hall; and her special friend, Tim Harkleroad.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. At the family’s request cremation will take place. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 2712 Mason Road W., Milan. Inurnment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
