Esther L. Rowland, 93, of Norwalk, and formerly of Collins, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in Keystone Pointe in Lagrange, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Berlin Heights, and was a graduate of Berlin Heights High School. Esther was a homemaker and also served as a postal clerk for the Collins Post Office for 20 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, the Bunco Club and a charter member of the Townsend Firebelles where she was treasurer for 35 years. Esther was a member of First United Methodist Church in Norwalk.
She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Campbell, of Wakeman, Judy Readman, of Hilliard, Ohio, and Linda (Glenn) Johns, of Norwalk; seven grandchildren, Brian Campbell, Kevin (Debbie) Campbell, Laura (Travis) Ramsey, Brittany Dodd, Megan (Greg) Palovchik, Chad Johns and Adam (Stacy) Johns; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Merrick; her parents, Lewis and Sophia (Krieg) Kuhl; a sister, Mildred Dalton; two brothers, Elmer and Arthur Kuhl; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main St., Norwalk, where an Eastern Star service will be at 7 p.m. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, until services at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Gary Streiff will officiate. Burial will follow at Collins Cemetery.
