Hazel Lois Baker, 86, of Norwalk, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 14, 2013, at Gaymont Nursing Center.
Hazel was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Jefferson, Ohio, to Fred A. and Mildred (Burlingame) Stephenson.
She was a graduate of Oak Park High School and the University of Chicago. She was employed by Fisher Titus Hospital of Norwalk and Memorial Hospital of Sandusky. Hazel raised Pekinese dogs for 30 years under the name of Baker’s Pekinese Kennel.
Hazel is survived by her in-laws, Ken Sr. (Kay) Baker of Berlin Heights, Marilyn Baker of Norwalk; nephew, Ken Baker Jr.; niece, Shelly (Dave) Ball; six great nieces and nephews; and friends, Eugene and Geraldine Rogers, of Wellington, Ohio.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Baker whom she married on October 3, 1992; her adoptive parents, Charles F. and Elizabeth Beeler.
At Hazel’s request, there will no public services held. Burial will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
