Madge E. Giedeman, 79, of Fremont, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in the Rutherford House in Fremont.
She was born on July 29, 1933, in Clyde, to George Edward and Martha (Blazek) Willer, Sr.
Madge was a 1951 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 1955 graduate of The Ohio State University, College of Agriculture, School of Home Economics.
In 1955, she married John E. Giedeman Jr. at the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church, Fremont, and they were divorced in 1982.
Madge is survived by daughters, Lori Giedeman of Lafayette, Ind., and Sue (Jim) McBride of Castalia; sons, John (Pauline) Giedeman of Bellevue, and Wendell (Cathy) Giedeman of Findlay; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara (Gerald) Lindstrom of Howard, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marilyn Willer of Fremont; and step mother, Mary Willer of Clyde.
Madge was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, George E. Willer Jr.
Madge was an educator and spent 14 years as instructor of Child Care at Vanguard Vocational Center. Later she assisted other as a transition counselor during several plant closings in the area.
Madge was a Christ follower and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Fremont. She was active in the community as a Girl Scout and Campfire leader, 4-H Leader and 4-H judge in seven counties. She was active in several art groups in the area and was well-known for her oil and water color painting, corn-husk dolls, crafts; children's books and awesome cooking.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home with Pastor H. Kearns officiating. Burial will be in Four Mile House Cemetery.
