Mary Mazalee Rogers, 82, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Sunday morning, Jan. 6, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Mazalee was born in Ansted, W.Va., on Sept. 12, 1930, to Perry and Parma Jane (Legg) Hawkins.
Mazalee enjoyed watching soap operas, working on jigsaw puzzles, reading, flowers (especially roses), Elvis Presley, watching wrestling, and elephants.
She is survived by her four daughters, Debra (Leslie) Dean, Wanda (Roger) Dean, Marilyn (Ara) Mergian, Karen (Dean) Stout; four sons, John Rogers, Roger (Mary) Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Paul (Theresa) Rogers; 22 grandchildren, Lisa, Lesley, Christopher, Jason, Jennifer, Heather, Razmig, Levon, Taleen, Kevin Jr., Nathaniel, Tiffany, Arial, David, Jamie, Melissa, Joe, Jason, Jeremy, Joseph, Heather, Tiffany; 23 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Elizabeth Reynolds.
Including her parents, Mazalee was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Rogers in 2009; two sons in infancy; two granddaughters, Kristen Lea Dean and Lauren Marie Rogers; five sisters; and three brothers.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 9, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home, the Rev. Leslie Dean officiating. Entombment will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
