Joyce (Davis) Baker, 75, of rural Green Springs, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, in Bellevue Care Center.
Joyce was born Jan. 28, 1937, in Green Creek Township, Ohio, to the now deceased Ben H. and Mamie (Kautz) Davis. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1954.
On Feb. 19, 1955, she married LaMar "Barney" Baker who survives; their two sons, Douglas H. (Diane Boster)Baker, of Green Springs and Bruce L.(Rita) Baker, of Clyde; two grandsons, Eric B. Baker and Kyle L. Baker; and five stepgrandchildren, James Laird, Scott Laird, Tracy Gore, Matthew Boster and Missy Geringer; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Dorothy Cox, of Clyde, Marian Pfeiffer, of Fremont, Barbara (Don) Eberly, of North Liberty, Ind., Lenore "Norie" (Jack) O'Harrow, of North Canton, Ohio, Janet Hayward, of Republic, Ben E. (Becky) Davis, of Clyde, Thomas A. (Barb) Davis, of Clyde, and Diane (Richard) Deken, of Twinsburg, Ohio, also survive.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her sister, C. Jean Butz.
Joyce was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clyde. She enjoyed the outdoors, which included flowers and gardening.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at First United Methodist Church, Clyde. A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow this service in fellowship hall at the church.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Roof Fund or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the donor's charity of choice.
