Mary E. (Bishop) Berger, 88, of Huron, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in Admiral’s Pointe Nursing & Rehab, Huron, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born July 2, 1924, in New Washington, Ohio. Mary’s passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to play her organ and travel, and attend St. Peter Church.
Mary married Robert Berger May of 1947 and together they worked in business in Attica, Huron and Bay View. Later, Mary worked at Food Isle Chicken Carry-Out in Huron.
Mary is survived by her sons, Jerry R. (Christina) Berger and John (Maria) Berger, of Huron; a special daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Bill) Roeser, of Huron; grandchildren, Sara (Scott) Arnold, Stephanie (Ryan) Dawson, Marley (Brian) Hastings, Rudy (Lynette) Berger, Robert and Hali Berger and Jessica Schuster; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Berger; a son, James Berger; sisters, Sara Bishop and Joanne Burger; and brother, Robert Bishop.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec 27, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec 28, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. The Rev. Jeffery Sikorski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
