Timothy Paul Savastuk, 49, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, due to respiratory failure.
Tim was born May 13, 1963, in Youngstown, Ohio, to John and Charlynn Savastuk.
A graduate of Poland Seminary High School, Tim helped establish the Ben Franklin Store in Saline, Mich. He later worked for several years in the maintenance office of the Ohio Department of Transportation. Tim loved music and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include his mother, Charlynn of Bloomington, Ind.; siblings, David of Burtonsville, Md., Susan (Glorianne) of Bloomington, Stephen (Diane) of Castalia, and James of New York; aunt and uncle, Ann and Hershel Akers of Lorain, Ohio; uncle, Alex Savastuk of Amherst, Ohio; nieces Megan and Katie Savastuk of Silver Spring, Md. and Nicole Savastuk of Castalia; and many cousins. He also leaves many friends and caregivers from Compass Family and Community Services.
He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Savastuk, in 2005.
Following the family’s wishes, the body will be cremated. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky.
