Joyce (Davis) Baker, 75, of rural Green Springs, died at the Bellevue Care Center on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.
Joyce was born on Jan. 28, 1937, in Green Creek Township, to Ben H. and Mamie (Kautz) Davis. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1954.
On February 19, 1955, she married LaMar "Barney" Baker who survives; along with two sons, Douglas H. (Diane Boster) Baker of Green Springs, and Bruce L.(Rita) Baker of Clyde; two grandsons, Eric B. Baker and Kyle L. Baker; five step grandchildren, James Laird, Scott Laird, Tracy Gore, Matthew Boster, and Missy Geringer; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Cox of Clyde, Marian Pfeiffer of Fremont, Barbara Eberly (Don) of North Liberty, Ind.; Lenore "Norie" Harrow (Jack) of North Canton; Janet Hayward of Republic, Ohio; Ben E. Davis (Becky) of Clyde; Thomas A. Davis (Barb) of Clyde, and Diane Deken (Richard) of Twinsburg, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her sister, C. Jean Butz.
Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clyde. She enjoyed the outdoors, which included flowers and gardening.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the First United Methodist Church, Clyde. A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow this service in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Roof Fund, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the donor's choice.
