Mark E. Wott, 69, of Clyde, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
Mark was born in Fremont on July 20, 1943, to Frank and Esther (Schwochow) Wott. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1961. His passion was farming, which he was able to continue throughout his life. He also worked at Whirlpool Corp. for 17 years.
Mark was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde. He loved to play basketball and enjoyed fishing. He was proud of his 33 years of sobriety. Mark had a loving and giving heart that he was willing to share with others.
On Oct. 20, 2000, he married Sylvia Meade, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Kelly Wott (Ed Baker) of Clyde, Robin (Greg) Reinhold of Ida, Mich., Wendy (Chris) Speelman of Mansfield, Ohio, Brett (Jessie) Wott of Clyde, Erika Wott of Clyde, Mandy Wott of Toledo, and Adam Wott of Clyde; step daughters, Sarah Davenport of Clyde, and Jennifer Hohman of Norwalk; 24 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brothers, Paul (Marilyn) Wott of Clyde, and Joseph (Bev) Wott of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his step son, John Culbertson.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell officiating. Burial will be in Lay-Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
