Nancy Jane (Ingalls) Foster, 66, of Birmingham, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, after a seven week illness.
Nancy was born in Milford, Conn. She had been a Wakeman resident for the past 23 years moving from Hudson, Ohio.
She saved over 1,000 animals, including horses, cats and dogs. Using healthy horses, she did equine therapy for handicapped children at Blairs Sunset Haven.
She is survived by her sons, James Foster of Wakeman, and Christopher Ward (Lisa) Foster of Hudson; grandchildren, Heidi, Derrick and Robbie Foster; Joshua Nichols, Cullen Keegan, Paige, Emily and Brooklyn Foster; and a sister, Cathy Ingalls of Texas.
Her parents, Austin and Edith (Brown) Ingalls, preceded her in death.
Services are private. The Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion, is entrusted with arrangements.
